The aims of the ISFAG totally revolve aound the provision and development of girls football in the Independent Schools sector and our outlined below.....

Our Aims

Contact all Independent Girls and Co-ed Schools informing them of our aims and ambitions. Offer to run a Football Awareness Clinic at schools that do not have football at their school; to achieve a greater awareness of the benefits of girl’s football among Senior Management and to encourage more schools to run a football programme.

In partnership with the FA we will :-Run one day regional clinics to help teaching staff obtain football coaching awards in order to get a greater number of school staff qualified to run football at their schools. These will be heavily subsidised by the Football Association. Please see our Coaching Pages

Run 5 Day regional residential and non residential clinics to improve individual girl’s skills and encourage a greater skill level among grass root players. Please see our Coaching Pages

For our Member Schools we will :- Talk to interested staff regarding the requirements of running a football club or lessons. Follow up with a short informative talk “introduction to football” and a skills session for the girls, if required. In conjunction with the Football Association we will be able to offer help with providing Football Association Coaches to run clubs during or after school until staff can completely take over and we can supply all relevant literature.

Run an e-mail help service for member schools to obtain help and advice regarding all aspects of running a football programme.

Run a National Sixes Competition for Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 teams during the Summer Term, the first was held at Wycombe Abbey on May 8th, a full report is on our Tournaments Pages.

Run a fixtures web site to allow member schools to plan fixtures against each other.

Run a series of leagues around the country with the top team winning that respective league and the top teams from each league playing in a knockout tournament with the winners crowned “National Champions”.

For girls playing football at Member Schools we will :-Set up regional Development Centres, as centres of excellence, where selected players, at each age level, may go, once a month to develop their playing ability and understanding of the game.

Set up Regional representative teams at all ages.  An opportunity for the better players to play each other, to encourage greater skills and experience.

Set up National representative teams at all ages; an opportunity for the better players to play against international opposition and again it will encourage greater skills and experience.

Our Principles, Code of Conduct and Guide Lines will reflect those of the ISFA & Football Association.
